Another Hennessy Artistry Press Conference that I’ve attended. Got called by Yatz at 3pm said need to be there to collect passes.

Boys Like Girls – The Boston-area band which also includes John Keefe (drums), Bryan Donahue (bass) and Paul DiGiovanni (lead guitar) is paying that feeling forward by focusing on making lasting connections with its fans. It’s clear from the first note of their self-titled debut disc, which kicks off with the youthful enthusiasm of “The Great Escape” and closes with the “what’s next?” sentiment of ballad “Holiday.”

Lenka – There once was a little girl. She was born in the bush. Her parents called her Lenka. Her first friends were trees. Her father played the trumpet, she sang with him when she was 6. She grew up a bit. They moved to the big city (Sydney). She went to school. She danced a bit. She acted a bit. She went to art college. She started to sing a bit more… She joined a band called Decoder Ring. They created an album called Somersault, which was the soundtrack to a feature film of same name. It won lots of awards.

Paul Freeman – Paul’s music bursts at the seams with intelligence, complexity melodic exhilaration and life-affirming exuberance. Freeman’s a “poetry fan” filled with “the utmost respect” for “anybody that’s a good writer… whether it be a songwriter or a poet or a screenwriter. It’s an underestimated art.”

蕭閎仁 – 三首歌，是閎仁的一個開始，建寧看出這個男孩創作上的潛力，逼他不斷寫歌。從原本用手機錄下寫好的歌（”看袂落去”最早的版本就是他用手機錄下的創作），一直到在建寧的工作室中學習編曲，完成DEMO。短短數月之間，從三首歌的創作增加到將近百首的創作，豐沛的創作能量和創意，讓看遍華語樂壇優秀創作者的陳建寧，更加篤定的相信，這個外表害羞的男生，內心擁有一座即將爆發的音樂火山。
